4 million dollars to motivate 3 million young people within the Gulf-wide in a project of its first kind between Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global" and the World Scout Foundation

HRH Princess Lamia bint Majed AlSaud, Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global" (Registration no. 333 Lebanon), chaired by HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz AlSaud, attended the Annual Special Conference of the World Scout Foundation, that was held in Mexico City on Saturday March 24. Along with the Honorary Chairman of the Foundation, His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustav King of Sweden, and Her Majesty Queen Silvia, Crown Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, as well as VIPs, businessmen and members of the foundation.

The director of the World Scout Foundation John Geoghegan, welcomed HM King of Sweden and HRH Princess Lamia bint Majed AlSaud, and highlighted the importance of the partnership between WSF and AP, and its impact on volunteerism around the world. HRH Princess Lamia was honored with the Baden Powell Fellowship pin in recognition of AP’s contributions to the World Scout Foundation’s support of youth around the world.

The World Scout Foundation and Alwaleed Philanthrophies have a strong partnership with major achievements, most notably through their response to refugee families throughout Europe, Food for Life project in Africa, and the Disaster Preparedness Project in Indonesia. It is worth mentioning that HRH Prince Alwaleed received His Majesty King of Sweden at the Kingdom Tower in Riyadh in November 2016.

From HRH Princess Lamia’s trip, the 2030 GCC Scout Project has been signed with the Director of WSF, John Geoghegan, in the presence of HM King Carl Gustav, Lars Kolind officer-chairman, and Ahmed Alhendawi secretary general of WSF. The project’s duration is six years and aims to motivate and involve young people of both genders in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf to work on community services through development initiatives tailored to the needs in each country and serving the sustainable development objectives adopted by the United Nations.

For over 37 years, Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global" has supported and initiated projects in over 124 countries regardless of gender, race, or religion. We collaborate with a range of philanthropic, government, and educational organizations to combat poverty, empower women and youth, develop communities, provide disaster relief and create cultural understanding through education.
