Championing Palestinian Craft's Market Development, Design & Entrepreneurship, and Craft-hub

In a concerted effort to empower the craft industry in Palestine, Alwaleed Philanthropies “Global” has joined forces with Turquoise Mountain. This partnership, centered in Bethlehem, is dedicated to supporting Palestinian artisans by promoting financial sustainability, enhancing design innovation, and creating new market opportunities.

Preserving Palestinian crafts is vital for multiple reasons. Firstly, it helps maintain the cultural heritage of Palestine, ensuring that traditional crafts continue to thrive across generations. Secondly, it offers artisans a significant source of income, bolstering local economies, particularly in regions with limited employment options. Thirdly, by assisting artisans in developing new products and reaching broader audiences, we foster economic growth and cultural exchange.

From 2023 to 2026, this initiative will benefit a total of 254 artisans. By focusing on market development, design innovation, and entrepreneurship, we aim to create a thriving craft industry that can sustain itself long-term. This project not only preserves the unique cultural heritage of Palestinian crafts but also empowers artisans with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed.
