Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre Honors Alwaleed Philanthropies

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of Alwaleed Philanthropies, received an award from Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre during a ceremony celebrating the 20 years anniversary of its inception.

Ms. Nauf Al Rawaf, Executive Manager of International Development Projects received the award on behalf of HRH Prince Alwaleed. The event was held at the Culture and Science Theater in Dubai. In honor of HE Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Culture, Youth, and Social Development who has distributed the awards in the presence of Sheikh Juma’a Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Managing Director of the Center.

Prince Alwaleed received this award as a recognition for HRH’s role in the inception and development of this humanitarian center which today is recognized as one of the main humanitarian centers in the region, and for HRH’s effort for defending the rights of disabled persons in the region. The Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre is a Non-profit humanitarian organization which specializes in educational and health services for children with disabilities and special needs. The centre was founded in 1994 and ensures international standards of excellence in education and healthcare. It offers unique services that aim to provide a comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach tailored to the education of students with special needs. Every child receives a customized program designed to specifically to meet his/her individual needs. In 2002, Alwaleed Philanthropies  donated SR2,054,400 for the support of Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre.

The event was attended by members of the Royal family and prominent figures from the business community who have played a major role in the journey of the center. There was also presence of local and international media representatives. During the ceremony, the late HRH Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud and HRH Prince Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, were also honored and recognized for their efforts.

Alwaleed Philanthropies are involved in a wide spectrum of humanitarian activities in 90 countries. Their focus areas have been established around strategic initiatives, ranging from Disaster Relief and Community Development, to Women and Youth Empowerment, as well as Promoting Intercultural Understanding.
