On Behalf of Prince Alwaleed, Abir Kaki Receives “Champion of Change” Award from Minister of Labor

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global", received an award for his prominent role in empowering women in the workforce. The award was presented by H.E. Eng. Adel Bin Mohammad Fakeih, Minister of Labor on Wednesday, 11th December 2013 at the InterContinental Hotel, Riyadh during the first day of the “Talent and Diversity Leadership Forum” which is endorsed by The Ministry of Labor.

The “Champion of Change Award” was received by Ms. Abir Kaki, Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global" on behalf of Prince Alwaleed. The forum was also attended by Ms. Najla Tarabzouni, Communications and Media Manager and Ms. Amal Al Garafi, Operations Manager at Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global".

Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global" supported young female nationals, and contributed to the elimination of unemployment as part of “Hama” initiative. It also supported government initiatives, non-profit organizations and the private sector to enable youth to enter the labor market at all levels of education, and worked to create modern jobs in line with the current advancement of Saudi society. Alwaleed Foundation has also received an award from The Riyadh Chamber of Commerce for its role in women employment.

Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global" worked towards the economic empowerment of women, especially in training for employment, and supported the decision of the Ministry of Labor for the feminization of sales employees of shops, by training females who wish to be employed in sales.

“Hama” aims to support women’s empowerment issues, emphasize their leadership within the society, empower women, develop their productivity and enhance their capacity in functional and technical fields.
