Alwaleed Philanthropies and Saudi Artisanal Company Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Support and Empower Saudi Artisans

Alwaleed Philanthropies, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, and the Saudi Artisanal Company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at supporting and empowering Saudi artisans and developing local handicraft products through joint programs and initiatives that advance social and economic sustainability. The collaboration aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals to bolster cultural industries and empower national talent.
The MoU outlines cooperation in implementing training and empowerment programs for artisans, developing products that blend authenticity with modernity, and documenting and showcasing artisans’ work across the Kingdom. The partnership aims to strengthen the visibility of Saudi handicrafts locally and globally and contribute to expanding their market reach.

The signing ceremony was attended by HRH Princess Lamia bint Majed Al Saud, Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies, and Dr. Jasir bin Sulaiman Al-Herbish, CEO of the Heritage Commission.
The agreement was signed by Eng. Najla Al Jeaid, Deputy Secretary General and Executive Manager of Local Initiatives at Alwaleed Philanthropies, and Mr. Ibrahim bin Nasser Al-Nasser, CEO of the Saudi Artisanal Company.
HRH Princess Lamia bint Majed Al Saud, Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies, stated: “Our partnership with the Saudi Artisanal Company builds on our long-standing commitment to supporting handicrafts and traditional arts, and ensuring their sustainability as an integral part of our national identity and a promising avenue for empowering women and youth. Enhancing artisans’ skills and expanding their economic opportunities will strengthen the presence of Saudi heritage locally and globally, enabling them to access new markets and achieve economic and social independence—ultimately contributing to the growth of the national creative economy.”
Mr. Ibrahim bin Nasser Al-Nasser, CEO of the Saudi Artisanal Company, noted that the partnership is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to establish strategic collaborations with leading organizations in the non-profit sector, with the aim of supporting artisans and enabling them to transform their skills into sustainable economic opportunities that reflect the cultural identity of the Kingdom.
