Building on its commitment to addressing critical environmental challenges through innovation, Alwaleed Philanthropies, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed bin Talal AlSaud, today announced the launch of Atlai 2.0, an enhanced version of its AI-powered platform to help combat climate change and protect global ecosystems.
Atlai 2.0 builds on the success of the previous version by integrating a suite of advanced features covering monitoring, reporting, and the analysis of real-time data to address environmental challenges more effectively. Atlai 2.0 also aggregates even broader datasets on deforestation, land degradation, and climate indicators, equipping policymakers, activists, and the public with the necessary data to take informed action on a global scale.

It also monitors the complex relationship between climate change and deforestation. Atlai 2.0 tracks deforestation events around the world and analyzes key climate indicators such as temperature changes and air quality, producing reports and facts that make it easier for journalists and environmental activists to do their work.
With up to 40% of the world's land degraded, impacting three billion people and exacerbating instability in communities, there is a need for collaborative data-driven climate advocacy. Atlai 2.0 is a critical resource in this effort, providing accessible information, available globally at no cost.
Recognizing the transformative impact of accessible data in shaping climate discourse and turning advocacy into action, registered users can now receive more comprehensive alerts highlighting key climate and incidents. The AI-powered platform offers reports that are customizable by location and individual preferences, with multiple language options including English, French, Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi, Italian and Arabic. Atlai 2.0's community-oriented design promotes collaborative initiatives and collective action, facilitating the sharing of insights and resources across borders.
Reflecting on the launch, the Secretary-General of Alwaleed Philanthropies HRH Princess Lamia bint Majed Al Saud said:
“At Alwaleed Philanthropies, we're focused on delivering real solutions that equip communities with the knowledge they need to make a difference. With Atlai 2.0, we’re empowering climate change advocates around the world with insights and information vital to tackling the climate crisis and strengthen environmental resilience. We are committed to driving this vision forward, driving progress for global challenges through innovative tools.”
