In the wake of recent catastrophic earthquakes of February 2023, Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global" has partnered with UNH – Syria to initiate a crucial project aimed at restoring water supply to vulnerable communities in Eastern Aleppo in Syria. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment to rebuilding and improving essential infrastructure in a region that has endured significant hardships.
Goals and Scope
This project, spanning from 2023 to 2024, focuses on the comprehensive rehabilitation of water infrastructures in earthquake-affected areas. The primary objectives include the rehabilitation of approximately 3 km of water pipeline, restoration of building water connections to ensure access to clean water, and basic improvements to the street environment in the excavated sections during the restoration process. By addressing these critical needs, the initiative aims to provide sustainable water solutions and enhance the quality of life for residents in Aleppo.
