In a collaborative effort Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global" has partnered with the AMAR International Charitable Foundation to embark on a project aimed at the recovery and operation of two primary healthcare clinics in Iraq. This initiative underscores the commitment of both organizations to providing essential healthcare services to displaced populations and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Iraq.
Addressing Urgent Healthcare Needs
Iraq currently hosts approximately 195,000 Internally Displaced Persons who are awaiting the opportunity to return home. Many of these individuals are housed in IDP camps, where access to healthcare services is limited. Recognizing the critical healthcare needs of these vulnerable populations, we are working together to refurbish and equip two primary healthcare clinics located within IDP camps.
Goals for Progress
The primary goal of the project is to deliver comprehensive healthcare services to displaced populations in Iraq by upgrading and operating two primary healthcare clinics. By providing medical consultations, lab tests, health visits, and other essential services, the project aims to improve the health outcomes and overall well-being of displaced individuals residing in the camps.
Enhancing Healthcare Access for Displaced Populations in Iraq: Achievements and Impact of 2023 Initiatives
In the year 2023, significant strides were made in providing essential healthcare services to displaced populations in Iraq. A total of 35,706 medical consultations, 11,026 lab tests, and 2,286 health visits were conducted, resulting in a remarkable total of 49,018 services rendered. These achievements underscore the dedication and commitment to improving the health outcomes and overall well-being of displaced individuals residing in the camps.
Empowering Vulnerable Communities
The project is not only focused on providing immediate healthcare assistance but also on empowering vulnerable or marginalized groups within the IDP camps. By mobilizing women health volunteers and responding to the specific needs of local communities, the project aims to foster resilience and self-reliance among displaced populations.
Through this partnership we continue to build bridges for a more compassionate, tolerant, and accepting world, ensuring that displaced populations receive the support and care they urgently need.
