Launching "Mustaqbal III Project" to train 575 young men and women for the job market in Aden

In a new step towards training and empowering Yemeni youth, Alwaleed Philanthropies (Global), chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed bin Talal AlSaud, and Education for Employment signed an agreement to implement the Mustaqbal III Project. This initiative continues their joint efforts to enhance employment opportunities and entrepreneurship among young men and women in Aden and neighboring areas.

The two-year project aims to equip youth with practical and professional skills that qualify them to enter the job market and enable them to launch their own small businesses. This contributes to fostering self-reliance and achieving economic stability for families and local communities.

Youth are a vital element in developing societies and building the future, possessing the ability to turn challenges into opportunities

This initiative builds on a successful partnership that began in 2021, which empowered nearly 3,000 young men and women to enter the job market and launch their own businesses, improving the living conditions of thousands of Yemeni families.

The third phase targets 575 youth in Aden and neighboring governorates through three main tracks:

  • Training and preparing 525 young men and women for jobs in promising sectors needed in the job market.
  • Training 25 young men and women in the healthcare sector to qualify them to serve their communities and improve healthcare services.
  • Empowering 25 young men and women in entrepreneurship to acquire skills for creating and managing their own small businesses.

Through this project, Alwaleed Philanthropies (Global) and Education for Employment Yemen will continue their efforts to provide fair and inclusive economic opportunities for youth, including individuals with disabilities, ensuring they receive the appropriate training and qualifications to confidently and competently enter the job market.

The "Mustaqbal III Project" represents a new step towards empowering youth and building a more inclusive and sustainable future. It combines training, practical opportunities, and ongoing support from a network of alumni and experts to ensure participants' success and the project's lasting impact on Yemeni society.

Reem Mallawi, Executive Manager for Global Initiatives at Alwaleed Philanthropies, stated: "Youth are a vital element in developing societies and building the future, possessing the ability to turn challenges into opportunities. From this perspective, empowering women and youth is a core focus of our work. Thanks to the success and impact of the previous phases of the Mustaqbal Project in Yemen in empowering youth and preparing them for the job market, we continue our partnership with Education for Employment to launch the third phase.

We are committed to providing them with the necessary training and qualifications to enter the job market with confidence and competence, contributing to a sustainable impact on their lives and communities."

Dr. Amr Abdalla, Regional Program Director at Education for Employment, added: "At Education for Employment, we take pride in our ongoing partnership with Alwaleed Philanthropies, which has been a cornerstone in empowering youth in Yemen and enhancing their opportunities in the job market. The previous phases of the Mustaqbal Program in Yemen have proven successful in building youth capacities and equipping them with practical skills that enable them to achieve their ambitions and contribute to the development of their communities.

Through this new phase of collaboration, we continue our shared commitment to creating a tangible and sustainable impact that opens new horizons of hope and work for Yemeni youth."
