In partnership with Alwaleed Philanthropies and the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association, the second edition of the advanced Wood Badge Scout training concludes at King Khalid University

In partnership with Alwaleed Philanthropies, chaired by HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, and the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association, King Khalid University concluded today, Thursday, the second edition of the advanced Wood Badge Scout training program for female Rover leaders. The program was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs with the participation of 26 female Rovers from various women's scouting sectors. Held in Abha from May 18 to 22, 2025, the program was led by seven qualified female scout leaders who delivered advanced training content as part of a leadership development program aimed at enhancing scouting and leadership skills among young women.
Engineer Najlaa AlJeaidd, Deputy Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies, emphasized that such strategic partnerships reflect the foundation’s commitment to investing in the development of women's capabilities and empowering them through advanced training opportunities that help build a proactive and impactful generation of leaders. She added that the launch of the second edition of the scout leadership qualification program for future female leaders is a continuation of this commitment, aimed at enhancing young women's skills and nurturing a sense of initiative, and community responsibility, all in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals to empower youth to lead positive and sustainable social change.

Engineer AlJeaid also noted that supporting this initiative aligns with the foundation’s mission to develop national talents through training and empowerment pathways and to enhance women’s participation in leadership and volunteer roles. This contributes to achieving societal balance and supporting sustainable development strategies.
Dr. Areej Al-Buheer, Vice Dean for Female Student Affairs at King Khalid University, stated that the conclusion of this training marks a significant milestone in the university’s journey toward advancing women's scouting. The program successfully qualified a distinguished group of female scouts leaders, reflecting the success of the strategic partnership with Alwaleed Philanthropies and the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association.
Dr. Al-Buheer added that the training included a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical applications, such as leadership and management skills, youth training techniques, the World Scouting policy on safeguarding, scout planning, navigation skills, outdoor expeditions, and other core elements that contribute to shaping effective scout leaders capable of making a community impact.
The training concluded with a practical outdoor exercise focused on planning and executing expeditions, where participants practiced key navigation and field skills essential to scouting activities.
