Celebrating Global Health Impact: A Commitment on International Health Day

On this International Health Day, we, Alwaleed Philanthropies, proudly reaffirm our unwavering commitment to advancing health equity worldwide. Through our enduring dedication to empowering communities and improving lives, we have spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at addressing critical health challenges faced by underserved populations.

Our collaborations and partnerships have been pivotal in combating diseases and bolstering healthcare infrastructure across regions. Among our flagship initiatives, we take pride in our efforts to combat measles and rubella through the "Measles and Rubella Elimination Project," undertaken in partnership with the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF). By accelerating vaccination activities in areas heavily burdened by these diseases, we have vaccinated over than 50 million children, contributing significantly to global elimination efforts.

Similarly, our partnership with The Carter Centre in the "Trachoma Control Program" exemplifies our commitment to eradicating neglected tropical diseases and promoting eye health. Through the implementation of the SAFE strategy, we have made substantial progress in eliminating blinding trachoma, positively impacting almost 210 million human.

Furthermore, our collaboration in the "Eradicate Guinea Worm Disease" initiative, alongside The Carter Centre, reflects our belief in the possibility of eradicating debilitating diseases through rigorous surveillance and intervention efforts. Through innovative approaches and community engagement, we have made significant strides and reached over 1 million human while reducing transmission and preventing new cases.

A Commitment on International Health Day

Additionally, our partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in the "Global Polio Eradication Initiatives" underscores our collective resolve to rid the world of polio. Through targeted interventions and vaccination campaigns, we remain steadfast in our commitment to reaching every child with life-saving polio vaccines. Through targeted interventions and vaccination campaigns, More than 103 million children have been immunized against polio. The Polio Eradication Project was launched in 2019, and its continuity serves as a testament to the commitment of all partners to reach every child with life-saving polio vaccines.
