Alwaleed Philanthropies Signs MoU with Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority to Promote Sustainable Development and Heritage Preservation

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance environmental sustainability and support community initiatives, Alwaleed Philanthropies, chaired by HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal AlSaud, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority. The agreement aims to empower local communities, promote volunteerism, preserve the environment and national heritage, and develop ecotourism in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
The MoU was signed by HRH Princess Lamia bint Majed Al Saud, Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies, and Dr. Talal Al-Harigi, CEO of the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority. The partnership seeks to launch sustainable development initiatives across the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve and the King Khalid Royal Reserve, contributing to the training of national talents, generating direct and indirect job opportunities, and increasing youth participation in environmental and developmental activities.

The agreement includes projects focused on protecting cultural heritage, supporting environmental sustainability programs, and encouraging community engagement through volunteer initiatives, including the scouting movement. Additionally, the collaboration aims to combat desertification and enhance vegetation cover using artificial intelligence to analyze environmental data and provide innovative solutions that contribute to national initiatives and ecosystem conservation.
Alwaleed Philanthropies emphasizes that this partnership reflects its vision of empowering individuals, promoting volunteerism, and developing innovative solutions to address environmental challenges, ultimately supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability, local community empowerment, and preserving natural resources and biodiversity within the reserves through an integrated approach that advances sustainable development and improves quality of life.
