Alwaleed Philanthropies “Global” collaborates with GAVI in providing the needed vaccines for children living in the world's poorest countries!
2016 - 2020
114,052 children immunized
Timor Leste, Kiribati, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, and Guyana
Seeking to support the children suffering harsh living and difficult health conditions, we have worked together with GAVI to provide the needed vaccines for children living in the world's poorest countries to achieve health sustainability and ensure better living conditions for them and the future generations.
This project aims to have the private and public sectors join their efforts to provide equal access to vaccines for children living in the world’s poorest countries. As an alliance member with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, UNICEF, WHO and the World Bank, we have made unprecedented progress in global health immunization and tackled the problem by creative mechanisms and innovative solutions.
- Increasing coverage and equity of immunization.
- Supporting countries to introduce and scale up new vaccines.
- Responding flexibly to the special needs of children in fragile countries.
Achievements until 2020
Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global" total contribution was invested/disbursed to all the six countries during the first year of support (2016-2017) and all countries have now transitioned out of (Gavi) support from 2019.
