Prince Alwaleed & Secretary General of Muslim World League Discuss Philanthropic Issues

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global", received H.E Dr. Abdullah Alturki, Secretary General of the Muslim World League and an accompanying delegation that included Dr. Habib Zein El Abidine, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Dr. Nadeem Elyas, Head of the Islamic Waqf, Germany. The meeting was also attend by Dr. Sheikh Ali Al Nashwan, Board Member of Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global" and HRH’s Religious Advisor, Ms. Heba Fatani, Senior Executive Manager, Corporate Communications Department, Ms. Intisar Al Yamani, Executive Manager, Corporate Communications Department.

The meeting began as Dr. Alturki thanked Prince Alwaleed for giving him the opportunity to meet with him. The two touched upon the latest regional and international developments on the social, economic and Islamic front.

Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global"’s support is an extension to its role in global cultural understanding also through the establishment of six academic centers with study programs that encourage tolerance and mutual understanding, advance scholarship in Islamic and Middle Eastern studies, support opportunities for dialogue and reconciliation among religions and cultures and participate in the preservation of the Islamic literary and artistic heritage around the world. The centers include, Harvard University, The Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Islamic Studies Program, Georgetown University, The Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding, Edinburgh University, The Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Centre for the Study of Islam in the Contemporary World, Cambridge University, The Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Centre of Islamic Studies, American University in Beirut, The Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud Center for American Studies and Research and American University in Cairo, The Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Abdulaziz Alsaud Center for American Studies and Research.

Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global" is involved in a wide spectrum of humanitarian and philanthropic activities in more than 80 countries. Their main focus areas have been established around strategic initiatives, ranging from Disaster Relief and Community Development, to Women and Youth Empowerment, as well as Promoting Intercultural Understanding.
