HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz AlSaud, Chairman of Alwaleed Philanthropies (AP), recently received the prestigious award of “Donor of the Year” for his significant philanthropic efforts around the world. HRH Princess Lamia bint Majed AlSaud received the award on behalf of Prince Alwaleed during the Global Donors Forum held in Istanbul on May 25, 2016 recognizing His Royal Highness’ philanthropic and charitable contributions realized through his foundation, Alwaleed Philanthropies.
With the vision of healing divisions and shaping a more compassionate and tolerant world, the foundation has initiated and supported thousands of projects globally. Over the years, Alwaleed Philanthropies has grown into a key player in the philanthropic arena, working with a range of philanthropic, governmental and educational organizations, both big and small. HRH Princess Lamia Bint Majed AlSaud, Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies, received the award on behalf of His Royal Highness and commented on the occasion saying: “On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Global Donors Forum for this prestigious award. We are proud of what we have achieved but this is only the beginning.
Guided by the values, experience and insight of Prince Alwaleed himself, we are determined to continue our mission to combat poverty, empower women and youth, develop communities, provide disaster relief and create cultural understanding through education.”

Since its founding in 2008, the Global Donors Forum has set the stage for the world’s most influential Muslim philanthropists, government representatives, business leaders and social investors to come together and share their insights.
For over 35 years, Alwaleed Philanthropies has supported and initiated projects in over 120 countries regardless of gender, race, or religion. Alwaleed Philanthropies collaborates with a range of philanthropic, governmental and educational organizations to combat poverty, empower women and youth, develop communities, provide disaster relief and create cultural understanding through education.
