The Arab Social Media Influencers Summit Honors Alwaleed Philanthropies with Community Service Award
Alwaleed Philanthropies (AP), chaired by HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz AlSaud, has been honored with the “Community Service” award at the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit, which was held at the Dubai World Trade Center on December 10th. The Summit included more than 70 speakers from 25 countries organized in more than 20 interactive sessions. They shared their ideas and experiences in social communication in the presence of more than 1000 influential social media and stakeholders from various sectors in the region and the world.
32 winners were honored in various sectors and disciplines, from individuals and institutions that are most influential and distinguished on Social Media platforms within several categories. Her Royal Highness Princess Lamia Bint Majid Al Saud, Member of the Board and Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies, received the Community Service Award on behalf of AP and presented by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed Al Maktoum on behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
This is the third edition of the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit, sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The keynote speech was delivered by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, in the presence of Arab and foreign dignitaries. This was the largest gathering of its kind in the world, and it included thousands of Arab and international personalities on various channels of Social Media.
For over 4 decades, Alwaleed Philanthropies has supported and spent more than 4 billion dollars on social welfare, and initiated more than 1000 projects in over 164 countries, managed by 10 Saudi females members, reaching more than 533 million beneficiaries around the world, regardless of gender, race, or religion. Alwaleed Philanthropies collaborates with a range of philanthropic, governmental, and educational organizations to combat poverty, empower women and youth, develop communities, provide disaster relief and create cultural understanding through education. It seeks to build bridges for a more compassionate, tolerant, and accepting world.
