Alwaleed Philanthropies Receives a Delegation of Wives of Heads of Diplomatic Missions

Alwaleed Philanthropies received a women’s delegation of the Association of Wives of Permanent Heads of Diplomatic Missions “WHOM” on Monday, 9th December 2013, at their office in Riyadh. The delegation’s visit was part of their effort to promote a better understanding and knowledge about the Saudi Arabian culture, communities and individuals.


The delegation visited the Foundation in an aim to learn more about its philanthropic projects, areas of focus and outreach. During the meeting, the delegation discussed the active role of Saudi women in society, and the overall impact of the Alwaleed Philanthropies' humanitarian initiatives across the globe.


The delegation of WHOM, which is headed by Mrs. Najat Al-Ziq, Wife of UNICEF Representative in the Gulf, consisted of 31 women representatives from the following diplomatic missions: Oman, Bahrain, Mauritania, FAO, Palestine, Iraq, Pakistan, India, Azerbaijan, Austria, France, Kenya, Mali, South Africa, Gambia, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Zambia, Benin, Sweden, Argentina, Uruguay, Maldives, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Germany, Tunisia, Qatar, Netherlands and Thailand. The delegation met members of Alwaleed Philanthropies that included Ms. Abir Kaki, Secretary General, Ms. Nora Almalki, Executive Manager of Development Projects, Ms. Nauf Al-Rawaf Executive Manager of International Projects, Ms. Najla Tarabzouni, Communications and Media Manager and Ms. Amal Al Garafi, Operations Manager.


The delegation of WHOM then met HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) and Chairman of Alwaleed Philanthropies, at his office in Riyadh. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Shadi Sanbar, KHC’s Executive Director and CFO and Member of the Investment Committee, Ms. Nada Al Sugair, Executive Director Finance and Administration and a member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Ms. Heba Fatani, Senior Executive Manager, Corporate Communications Department (CCD), Dr. Nahla Nasser Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman, Ms. Intisar Al Yamani, Executive Manager, CCD, Ms. Samar Alatiqi, Project Manager, CCD Mr. Naief Alzuhair, Manager, Website and Social Media, CCD and Mr. Fahad Bin Saad Bin Nafel, Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman.


During the meeting, Prince Alwaleed and the delegation discussed social and economic issues, as well as philanthropy, and the advancement of Saudi women in the workplace and society.


WHOM is The Association of Wives of Permanent Heads of Diplomatic Missions, and is accredited in Saudi Arabia, and consists of 50 members representing embassies from countries around the world as well as United Nations organizations. WHOM’s objective is to promote a better understanding and knowledge about the Saudi culture, communities and individuals.
