Prince Alwaleed Celebrates the Saudi National Day in Otayqua

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Alwaleed Philanthropies, celebrated the Saudi National Day on Tuesday 23rd September 2014, with the residents of Otayqua community in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of the Housing Initiative.  Thousands of eligible Saudi citizens have received housing units in the Otayqua district that reflects the values of the National Day’s spirit. This action brings the number of beneficiaries of the Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation’s Housing Initiative to more than 8,000 Saudi citizens. 

Upon His Royal Highness's arrival to the location, the people of Otayqua gathered around him to express their genuine delight with his visit to share such celebration. During the visit, His Royal Highness clearly  expressed his interest in identifying the living conditions of the Otayqua residents and their needs that could be met by the Foundation. In this regard, Prince Alwaleed was adamant to hand over the units to the beneficiaries in person and  attended four separate lunch invitations by the families. 

Lastly, the visit was concluded with Magh'reb prayer with the residents at Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque accompanied by Alshaiekh Zaid AlMugaidhed. HRH was also accompanied by Dr. Nahlah Alanber – Private Executive Assistance for His Royal Highness, Mr. Hassan Mukhtar – Private Affairs Manager, Mr. Fahad AlOtaibi – Executive Assistance to His Royal Highness, Mr. Mohammed Al Eisa - Assistant Executive Manager of Finance and Procurement and Mr. Mohammed Alfaraj, Assistant Manager Travel & External Affairs. 

It is vital to note that Alwaleed Philanthropies are one of the pioneers in housing initiatives, in which eligible citizens were granted housing units. In addition to seeking God's bless, such initiatives are taken to echo the call of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz and his Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz in this regard. The housing project stands on a long-term strategic partnership with a number of organizations with focus on housing, which ensures the services reach those who deserve it nationwide with the execution and supervision of both Ms. Nora Al-Maliki - General Manager of the Saudi Department, and Princess Lamia Bint Majid Bin Al Saud, Executive Manager Public Relations And Media, and Ms. Al Anoud Al-Mohammadi Executive Manager for Social Projects and Ms. Amal Alkathiri Project Officer.

The Foundations are involved in a wide spectrum of humanitarian and philanthropic activities in more than 90 countries. Their focus areas are established around strategic initiatives, ranging from Disaster Relief and Community Development, to Women and Youth Empowerment, as well as Promoting Intercultural Understanding.
